Jun 7, 12:39am: Can you say Police State? The Examiner has the scoop on a controversial new program announced today that would create so-called "Neighborhood Safety Zones" which would serve to partially seal off certain parts of the city. D.C. Police would set-up checkpoints in targeted areas, demand to see ID and refuse admittance to people who don't live there, work there or have a "legitimate reason" to be there. Wow. Just, wow.

http://www.arfnets.org/admin/shelter/Dog/3439.jpg; OMG, this young female Great Pyrenees is in a shelter two counties away. Thankfully it is not a high kill shelter. I alerted the Great Pyr Rescue persons, but I'm going to call them on my way to bail her out in the morning. So, suddenly, possibly, more than one dog is coming into my life. My famous last words were: "I will get a tiny dog as he cannot knock me on my butt."

Jun 6, 7:22pm: Maya and Sunny's Pups Born May 16, 2008
Maya is a 43 lb Golden Retriever and Sunny is a small pure white poodle.
Artificial insemination. OH!
Which makes not just a Goldendoodle but a mini Goldendoodle litter.
One will come live with me in July. Really want two of these babies, but still simply pondering the possibility of being in two places at once. The fence is erected. Such a big fence for such a tiny pup.
